Our one television backed up over the weekend and I replaced it with the one I use for my Xbox, so no more Xbox gaming for me for a while , till I can get a new television.

Since I got myself this weekend Dragon’s Dogma and Brutal Legend, I must make an alternative plan.

I connected the Xbox to my computer monitor, it work, without any sound, must get an auxiliary sound set up.

My question, using a USB external TV tuner [TV card], will I be able to use my laptop to play Xbox?

@Sandman - best bet for a monitor is to try find a cheap VGA cable for the Xbox 360 as it should have the audio out split from the VGA input. An RCA to 3.5mm jack will allow you to plug in some headphones or other speakers. If it's a decent monitor and you're using an HDMI cable, you can sometimes find pure audio-out adapters. Be aware however the Xbox has an issue with determining which output to use so I found turning off the screen (or even simply switching input) sometimes causes the xbox to reboot and try output through the audio adapter (even tho it has not video out).

The USB external TV tuner is meant to be the best option as it will give you decent image quality. Let me know how it goes as I'd be keen to have my laptop as a potential screen when the tv is occupied.

EDIT- tons of forums suggest the lag through a TV tuner make's some game unplayable so maybe stick to the monitor setup?

how do your PC speakers connect? if they can take the red/white coaxial (AV cable)(like Divoom speakers) then thats sorted

The pc speakers connect via the sound card, the monitor got no audio outlets.

The monitor only got one AV input.

Got my Xbox to run through laptop.
Got myself a Video and audio grabber for R260-00 and it works. No lag or delays.
The most difficult issue was to get all the setting correct.
So I am now playing Dragon’s Dogma on my “laptop”.

Very true! Now my XBox is mobile, made space in my laptop bag and I can take my Xbox with me.

So as if the last 6 months haven't been bad enough, my cat knocked my external onto the floor. Now when I plug it in, it just beeps. No clicking or anything like that,just beeping. It's still under warranty so repair shops don't really wanna open it up eapecially since we don't actually know what's wrong. Can anyone suggest what might be the problem? I've had people say it's the actuator arm (either bent or dislodged) and some saying they don't think it's the arm since there's no clicking sound. I really don't want to lose my data coz it took me 6 months to accumulate all of it. If anyone can help it would really make my life. I could realy use a win ...
