We are in the process of restructuring and revising our forums, that being said we would like to look at what would make the forums more approachable and inviting to both new and seasoned members of the forums. It is important to understand that our forums have been running for a long time and in its evolution rules and changes have to be updated and implemented. If you have any ideas or suggestions to improve the experience of you and other users, please comment below. If you wish to remain anonymous in, feel free to pm either myself, Tea or Trevor with your thoughts.

When the re-launch of the forums takes place we want to make them a vibrant and diverse place to share thoughts, news and opinions. We want to invite new users to enjoy this feature,however it appears that potential forum users are put off by the abrasiveness of certain current users. In an effort to create an inviting environment for users we ask for current users to suggest new rules to be implemented to make new users feel more welcome.

We appreciate all users who have complied with these rules over time and maintained the decorum and fair behavior we value.

Please also take a look at the current rules of the forums as often these are overlooked by users.

Forum Rules

We do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below. Although the administrators and moderators of AWX will attempt to keep all offensive messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and the owners of AWX Forums will not be held responsible for the content of any message.


General

1.Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts. Do not spam to get your post count up, Spammers will be banned.

2.Please refrain from posting threads that already exist.

3.Use the correct forums when creating a thread. If you have created a thread in the incorrect forum please inform a moderator.

4.Negative posts about competitive sites or organizations will not be tolerated.

5.Posting links to other competitive sites is not allowed. The links to these sites will be deleted from posts and relevant user will be banned.

6.Please do not post links to 'blog' or related sites in signatures, or as links on the AWX site itself. These links will be removed without notice as AWX is not accountable for contents of such sites.

7.No links to copyrighted material is allowed. This includes 'fan-subs', Manga Scans and MP3s. Links will be deleted. Do not request links to copyrighted material.

8.The promotion of piracy (be it video-gaming, Anime, Manga, movies etc.) or the illegal reproduction of copyrighted material, in any form, is not permitted.

9.Advertising and spamming are not allowed. This includes using the private message system to spam other members. If you wish to advertise, please contact an admin for details.

10.Usernames that contain a website address are prohibited. You will be asked to choose a new username or one will be chosen for you.

11.Selling items on the forums (including the chatbox) is currently prohibited. You may not harass other members in the private messaging system about selling items without their prior consent. Any harassment should be reported to a moderator. Loyalty will be rewarded.

Behavior

1.All members are to respect the thoughts and opinions of all other members.
Do not create posts with ill intent.

2.Keep swearing to a minimum. Posts with bad language will be edited. Using symbols, other letters or numbers to by-pass the site filter is prohibited and is seen as cursing.

3.Posts and usernames that are overtly sexual or vulgar in nature are not allowed. Usernames that are inappropriate will be edited if the name is not changed on request. Posts will be edited.

4.Signature and avatar images that contain henti or adult content are not allowed. These will also be changed if found inappropriate.


Banning

1.No warnings will be given if any of the above mentioned rules are broken. This includes spamming, which will result in a permanent ban from the site.
AWX reserves the right to delete users from our membership database if a user has been banned.

2.A users banning is final and non-debatable. Other members are asked to leave the matter of another users banning between the user being banned and the moderator.


Please Note:
We reserve the right to remove or edit offensive posts without notice.
We reserve the right to ban anyone who wilfully violates the forum rules.
We reserve the right to take any action we deem appropriate to ensure these forums remain at the standard we have set and are not abused in any way.

I would just like to add my 2c worth. Everything has been covered here, but just wanted to say that if everyone is just decent to everyone else, the forum can be a fun and harmonious place on the web So just be cool guys! Who knows, you may meet your future spouse here

The forum is chilled for the most part, its the chatbox that needs to go IMO.

Eurogamer has a fantastic system of accumulative upvote/downvote on comments. Fanboys and trolls are negged into oblivion.

can we still have the occasional "yo momma" roasting tournament?

There is a reporting system on forum posts. Perhaps there could so be on the chatbox?
