Considering the trailer ends off with the 3DS logo, and a shot of the current 3DS (and doesnt say only for N3DS like the XB3D trailer), I think the answer to your question is quite obviously, yes.

Pricing doesn't work that way, unfortunately. Depends on when suppliers ordered and secured their stock. They are probably locked in at R16:$1, but may get some relief from the overseas guys.

Also don't get too excited, what happens during the budget speech this week will go a long way in determining if the rate recovers to R15 or goes off the deep end. Oh yeah and what happens next in the US with their interest rates will also determine what happens.

100% and what is worse is you get retailers who buy at the better rate and then as soon as the rate gets worse immediately reprice all stock upwards to push up their short term profits. Seen it happen at small and big stores.

@ TheOneMCMk and Magius, be mindful of the fact that gaming product (new releases) are usually ordered 3 or more months in advance (and often paid for) with the publishers. So in theory it would take a few months of improved exchange rate to see a noticeable improvement in pricing.

Just like how it too a few month for the games to hit the pricing they are now, 799, 899, 1099 etc

So would that mean stores like AWX could already put down orders while the exchange rate is good so they pay less and customers pay less?

yes, if it ships at the lower rate that is correct - but this only really applies for supplier orders that are paid for and shipped at the same time as the exchange being low, not advanced shipments (pre-orders)

So, what can AWX order now while the rand is strong ?

I would say Fire Emblem Fates but that is a no go

No those are all future dated pre-orders. We are talking stuff that is available within a weeks release

Now all we need is the nice price and little "Buy" button

The box for Europe's special edition doesn't look as nice as the US version, but our one looks like it has more.
