@Vernon1711

Just wait for me outside. I'm sure Nexus will be happy to oblige with giving me a copy of Onimusha when I go "collect" my copy of Blood Of The Dawnwalker wearing a balaclava and a gun.

@IkariX I laughed more than I should at this, but at the same time, if you do, mind "politely asking" about Onimusha Way of the Sword as well, you know two birds, one office

@Tea, thanks so much for the update, will be patient, September looking to be a stacked month! Hoping stock gets released early so that people in Cape Town get the games before weekend

@Vernon1711

I was thinking of going to Nexus today to get Blood Of The Dawnwalker. I know it's releasing Thursday. But if I go with a balaclava and a firearm, they might sell it to me today

Description

Rockville 2069 is a love story set against the backdrop of a post apocalyptic world.

The year 2069 saw man's neglect of the environment and climate change result in cataclysmic events. Over the decades, repeated attempts to get nations to agree to protocols that would protect the Earth failed as nations put short-term industrial development before the long-term well-being of the planet. As a result, catastrophe struck in 2069 with huge earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides and rising oceans destroying the world as we know it.

Billions of people died and the planet was reduced to a frozen wasteland - covered in toxic fog - except for one corner of the Earth which was named Rockville (the place of rock music). This small archipelago had been saved by a strange accident of nature which had created an atmospheric dome (or force field) over the islands, effectively protecting them from the poisonous and freezing world outside. At the time of the apocalyptic event, a group of music-lovers, environmentalists, thinkers and musicians - believing that there had to be a better way to live - had gathered to commemorate the anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Arts Festival that had taken place a hundred years before in 1969. Their purpose was to celebrate the event and especially the music of that time that spoke of peace and the return to a simpler life of love for all things, including the environment and one another.

These people had been saved by the force field and began to make a simple life for themselves, living by the values that had brought them together. To their surprise they discovered that music was very important to them, as it was only by the energy generated by the playing of music that the force field would regenerate itself daily - and so envelop them in the protective dome. A number of bands that had been formed by the musicians (and who had been at the commemorative event) would perform every morning at sunrise to re-generate this vital force field.

Then, the dark side of human nature once again appeared. Petty jealousies among the leadership of Rockville lead certain people to make contact with the so-called TechnoRemnants - a group of outsiders who had somehow carved out a miserable life for themselves in the snowy wastelands beyond the force field. These outsiders desperately wanted to take control of Rockville and drive out the Rockers. Inevitably, betrayal would ensue and an apparent murder takes place, something which had never occurred on the islands before. This threw the inhabitants into a state of consternation and the blame eventually falls on our hero, JohnnyReb, who is banished with his band to the Forbidden Island while the Elders decided his fate. At the same time, the TechnoRemnants, having been assisted by traitors from within Rockville, arrive at the edge of the force field and a battle is imminent. A decision is made that this final showdown will take the form of a "Battle of the Bands" - appropriate since the outsiders themselves had developed their own style of music. The ultimatum: the first band to re-generate the force field gets to inherit Rockville as the prize.

All of the Rockers and TechnoRemnants bands try and fail. Ultimately, JohnnyReb and his band, newly arrived from the Forbidden Island, step up, play and save the day. The relationship between the two people in love, JohnnyReb and Danielle, winds throughout the substance of the story. In addition to the trials faced by them, the music of the various bands within Rockville sets the pace for the journey our chief protagonists undergo. Treachery within this idyllic world keeps the tension going with the action culminating in the "Battle of the Bands" a powerful ending to the production.
