Do you like Neca? Their early work was a little too 'general' for my taste, but when Neca Reel Toys was launched in ‘02, I think they really came into their own - both commercially and artistically. The whole range has clear, crisp sculpting, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the products a big boost. They’ve been compared to Mcfarlane, but I think Neca has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humour. In '05, Neca released this, Cult Classics Series 1, their most accomplished action figure line. I think their undisputed masterpiece is ‘American Psycho Patrick Bateman’, an action figure so superb most people probably don't look at the accessories - but they should! Because they’re not just included for the pleasure of conformity, and the importance of trends, they’re also a personal statement about the film itself!
