The Men in Black series is returning to the big screen with Men in Black: International, a spin-off from the main franchise that starred Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith as the coolest of the cool alien law enforcement team on Earth.
Men in Black: International sees Thor: Ragnarok stars, Chris Hemsworth as Agent H and Tessa Thompson as Agent M, reuniting on the big screen as the newest team to police illegal alien activities on our little blue rock. International takes the series, well, international - and possibly intergalactic - as the movie changes location from the New York branch of MiB to the London one as the MiB have the threat of a traitor within the organization to uncover.
International doesn't look to be changing up the series formula all that much, which, when you consider that the originals were just fun watches if not classics, isn't a bad thing at all. The trailer looks like it could be a fun ride to jumpstart a new wave of movies.
Joining Hemsworth and Thompson on this ride is the ever awesome Liam Neeson as the head of the UK MiB branch and Emma Thompson as Agent O, a role she had in Men in Black 3, which, outside of a quickly glimpsed painting that could be of Agents J and K, will be the connective tissue to the previous movies.
Men in Black is based on the 6 issue comic series, The Men in Black by Lowell Cunningham. The movies spawned an animated cartoon series, Men in Black: The Series which ran from 1997 to 2001 and was everything and more that the movies should have been. If you haven't seen it, you should track it down and add it your must watch list.
Men in Black: International will be probing theatres on the 14th of June, 2019.
