PlayStation 5 is Sony's Biggest Console Launch Ever
As most of you know, the PlayStation 5 has seen an absolutely massive launch - so much so that it has sold out completely in most countries, including its online orders. Fans who weren't able to get their hands on a console at launch were told to wait for second drops to arrive, and it looks like that will happen fairly soon. Sony recently issued a statement thanking fans for making the PS5's launch the biggest in Sony's history, and will be making the arrangements to get more units shipped to retailers by December.

In a recent tweet sent out by PlayStation, the gaming giant confirmed that the PlayStation 5 was their biggest console launch ever. However, they also addressed the issue of stock shortages too, which has become a problem worldwide for fans who were unable to pre-order at launch - either due to very high demand or numerous scalpers who are now coming under fire for their practices. PlayStation confirmed that they will send more stock to retailers before the end of the year, which is great for those who were unable to get their hands on the new console before Christmas and the holiday season.
It's no surprise that Sony is seeing such a stellar launch for the PS5. I wrote in my review that it was "the most authentically 'next-gen' looking and feeling console on the market right now." Its sleek futuristic design and fast loading times is certainly a big attraction point for many, but as was the case with the PS4, Sony's exciting line-up of first-party exclusives - both at launch with Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon's Souls, and upcoming with Horizon Forbidden West and God of War: Ragnarok - will surely carry the PS5's momentum well into the future.
The PlayStation 5 has launched worldwide.
