Eight years after release, the open universe exploration game No Man’s Sky has finally reached ‘Very Positive’ reviews on Steam. The game launched back in 2017 to a poor reception, with many citing the false promises made by developer Hello Games about which content would actually be included in the game. However, after numerous free updates and improvements, it has finally reached a point where its redemption arc can be considered complete.
As reported by Hello Games’ Sean Murray, the Steam reviews for No Man’s Sky have finally reached 80% positive, bringing its overall rating up to ‘Very Positive’ on the platform. Since the game’s launch, Hello Games has done a tremendous job on improving the game with tons of free DLC-sized updates that reshaped, changed and added content to the sci-fi title in doses. Slowly but surely, reviews of No Man’s Sky changed from bad to good, bringing it up to the very positive reviews on Steam today.
Sean Murray celebrated the milestone on Twitter/X, confirming that No Man’s Sky was now sitting on Very Positive reviews on Steam.
No Man’s Sky was recently nominated for Best Community Support at The Game Awards – a well-earned nomination considering the amount of work Hello Games put into the game over the years, though it’s up against some stiff competition like Baldur’s Gate 3, Final Fantasy XIV, Fortnite and this year’s Helldivers 2.
Back in July, Hello Games released another massive update called Worlds which overhauled the game’s systems, adding a ton of features to the experience. You can read more about it right here and maybe try it out for yourself.
