Wukong (nothing against Astro Bot but Wukong was robbed lol) and Stellar Blade have set the bar. Western devs need to step up.

Western devs are so afraid of making games that have attractive women, and that aren't inclusive to everyone. This may be a hot take, but I firmly believe that not everything needs to be inclusive. If everything catered to everybody, the world would be an incredibly boring and predicatable place

Soooooooo... Stellar Blade on PC is sitting on 147900 concurrent players on Steam. And counting. Bots and bootlickers are seething and coping right now on Reddit. They cannot fathom how a game like Stellar Blade is outperforming games like Dragon Age The Failguard, Concord and AC Shadows.

Ladies and gents, the recipe to success is simple. Make an honest-to-goodness game with likable characters and most importantly-- MAKE IT FUN... and success will follow.

I bought the PS5 version last year, and I did not hesitate for a moment to buy the complete edition on Steam to play it maxed out on my PC. The devs deserve the success

@phreak How could I have forgotten about Naoto lol I'm a fake fan. Yes Naoto would probably cause the biggest disturbance in the force. But I trust Atlus so I'm 90% sure she'll be fine.

No Mainline Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest Until 2028 – Report

by Sam Aberdeen on 15 May, 2025

      1

A new report claims that we won’t see a mainline Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest game until at least 2028. This follows a rumour that Square Enix had recently cancelled multiple major projects as part of its “3-year reboot” plans to shift its attention from quantity over to quality.

The original rumour comes from VG247 editor APZonerunner on ResetEra, who posted on the message boards some insightful news about what’s currently happening inside Square Enix. Long story short, the company will reportedly focus on smaller projects like remasters and ports for the next few years, including the Final Fantasy 9 remake, Final Fantasy Tactics remaster and the Dragon Quest HD-2D titles. The leaker added that Square Enix scrapped multiple major projects in the company restructure, though didn’t mention which ones got the axe.

“I’d said they’re not got anything major-major release wise this year. Mostly remasters and ports and stuff. But this is gonna be the way, a series of quiet years until this reset is done,” said APZonerunner. “They cancelled some pretty major stuff to be honest – I know about some unannounced ones that died as part of all this that’d shock people, but this is what doing a reset is about; making some brutal decisions to get on track.”

Building on APZonerunner’s claims, Eurogamer reported that, as part of Square Enix’s new strategy, there won’t be any new mainline Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest games until at least 2028. This is especially sad news for those looking forward to Dragon Quest 12, which recently got an update from franchise creator Yuji Horii stating that development was still ongoing.

It seems like Square Enix might be targeting a 2028 release window for Kingdom Hearts 4, while the next mainline Final Fantasy won’t see the light of day for another few years (though it’s unclear if this includes the third part in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy since it’s technically not a mainline title).

I wonder if they'll also use this time to exit exclusivity deals that have cost them sales (like FF7R/FF16 on Xbox) and maybe Switch 2 ports like the Kingdom Heart bundles proper instead of cloud versions?
