@Wannie197, Tea responded to this message yesterday saying no news yet. And mentioned keeping everyone 'posted'. Just have to keep waiting, I'm afraid.

@Fish - that's crappy about the ps4 but at least you are jamming some great games! Alien isolation is still a personal favorite of mine

Nexus Weekly News Round-Up 31/07: Sekiro Boss Rush, Cuphead on PS4, and Next-Gen Hype

by Sam Aberdeen on 31 July, 2020

    2

Welcome to the third week of our weekly news round-up! We have quite a busy round-up today that includes games, more games, and promises of games to come. While things have been quiet on the big gaming events side (wow, E3 has been going on for a while now), it's calm before the storm as we're expecting August to bring with it some big new announcements about Sony and Microsoft events. So while we're waiting for the storm to arrive, why not kick your feet up, relax, and enjoy a trip through what's been happening in the gaming world this past week. Let's take a walk.

Nexus talks to The Elder Scrolls Online creative director

Earlier this week, we had the exciting opportunity to talk to Rich Lambert, the creative director of The Elder Scrolls Online over at Zenimax Studios, who walked us through some of the processes of development, future updates, a fear of spiders, and unexpected tattoos. There's a lot to unpack, so make sure you read our full interview, or if you want the TL;DR version, watch the interview which was conducted by Sheree Buccholz.

Sekiro: Updates die twice

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, From Software's blisteringly difficult action/adventure which released last year to critical acclaim (and many Game of the Year awards) will finally receive a massive update this October that introduces the co-op-like Remnants, new costumes, and a much-requested boss rush mode for those who want to be punished twice (or a few more times). The update lands on October 29th, 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, so unsheathe your swords once more and dive back into the grim world of Sekiro.

Cuphead comes to PlayStation

Speaking of blisteringly difficult gaming experiences, Studio MDHR finally revealed that Cuphead will be coming to the PlayStation 4 - actually, it's out right now. The hard-as-nails 2D platformer with a gorgeous art style was shadowdropped this week, along with a relatively affordable price tag of R319. It's not much to pay for one of last decade's finest gaming experiences, and if you're a fan of old-school platformers, this is one you cannot miss out on.

Two Spidey's swing into action this holiday?

While not officially confirmed yet by Sony or developer Insomniac Games, it's believed that the upcoming Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PS5 will come bundled with the original PS4 Spider-Man completely remastered. This makes the standalone expansion quite an enticing offer for those who have to experience the wonder of Insomniac's original title, and will surely provide added context to Miles Morales' plights leading up to the inevitable mainline sequel.

Destroy all humans again in HD

Nexus Hub's latest big game review involves the remade Destroy All Humans! for current-gen consoles. The game brings with it the beloved PS2 classic with a visual facelift and an assortment of changes and additions like new weapons and certain story sections. Our thoughts? It's a remake that definitely changes the game and a good example of how to do it right. Make sure you read our full glowing review right here.

PlayStation and Xbox aren't done yet...

Things are only beginning to heat up as we approach the launch of the next generation of consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. According to reliable industry insider Imran Khan, both Sony and Microsoft will possibly discuss their hardware in more detail this August, along with more big game announcements to share. It's an exciting time for gaming, and the anticipation continues to mount as we crawl towards the end of 2020.

As always, follow Nexus Hub for more gaming news, reviews, previews, podcasts, and more!
