Last week, Warner Bros. released the official first Restricted trailer for the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie. The reception has been mostly positive, with fans praising the film's faithfulness to the games' fatalities and costume designs. However, some pointed out that it lacked a piece of iconic music: the Techno Syndrome theme song from the 1995 film. While it was specifically made for Paul W.S. Anderson's movie, it has since become synonymous with the gaming series as a whole, even being featured in the Mortal Kombat 11 launch trailer. Now, a fan has recut the new movie trailer and added that bit of nostalgia.

YouTuber Salih Bal recently posted their re-edited version of the Mortal Kombat movie trailer, adding in the original "Techno Syndrome" theme song by The Immortals. The music kicks in during the climactic fight in the trailer between Sub-Zero and Scorpion - and it simply elevates the trailer in ways the original did not. While the official trailer did have hints of the theme song in its score, this cut of the trailer simply slides in the famous techno theme to excellent results.
