Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Gets Extended by Extra Day
Capcom has extended the Monster Hunter Wilds beta by an extra day due to the recent PlayStation Network outage which prevented PS5 players from accessing last weekend’s second open beta for a whole 24 hours. A second round of the open beta is set to take place this upcoming weekend, though it will include an extra day for players to participate across all platforms.
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch later this month, though Capcom is currently hosting open beta tests to let players enjoy vertical slices of the game which includes hunts against a handful of monsters. The second open beta added Arkveld, the game’s flagship monster, to the list – a hunt that’s proving to be extremely challenging for many, even veteran players.
Capcom has revealed (via IGN) that the Monster Hunter Wilds beta this weekend will be extended by one day. New times are as follows:
Feb. 13, 7pm PT / Feb. 14, 3am GMT – Feb. 17, 6:59 pm PT / Feb. 18, 2:59 am GMT
For players in South Africa, the beta will be available again from 14 February at 5am and run until 18 February at 4:59am.
Apart from the difficult nature of the Arkveld fight, players have also reported some performance and graphical issues, especially on Xbox Series S, that Capcom could smoothen out before release. If you were lucky enough to get into the beta after the 24-hour PSN outage, you might’ve experienced similar technical problems. It’s hard to say if these issues will persist at the launch of the game, though Capcom now has the chance to fix and tweak things accordingly.
In case you missed it, Capcom detailed the PS5 Pro enhancements for Monster Hunter Wilds. A leak from November 2024 gave us a list of returning monsters from the franchise that players can expect to encounter in the new game.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches on 28 February 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
