Sony’s DualSense controller is a fantastic device. It is even better thanks to its PC support which means users can benefit from the awesome haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on the platform across supported games. The only issue up to now has been updating the DualSense controller firmware as previously, you needed a PS5 to do that. Sony has released a new PC app that allows users to update their DualSense controller for PC without a PS5 and here’s how to do it.
Firstly, you’ll need to download and install Sony’s proprietary DualSense PC app from the official site. The app is called Firmware Updater For DualSense Wireless Controller.
After it is downloaded, go ahead and install it. Keep in mind that during the installation, the app might request to download additional drivers and software updates. Just agree and install it all.
Launch the Firmware Updater For DualSense Wireless Controller and plug the device into your PC. Follow the on-screen instructions to start the download. Once it has been completed, the controller will restart confirming that the software has been updated.
