Guilty Gear Strive is Getting Lucy From Cyberpunk: Edgerunners in 2025
Developer Arc System Works has announced an unexpected new character for its fighting game, Guilty Gear Strive. Lucy from the award-winning anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, based on the game Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt Red, will be the first-ever guest character in the Guilty Gear franchise.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was a 2022 anime adapted and animated by Japanese animation studio Trigger. It serves as a prequel to the Cyberpunk 2077 game and follows a group of Edgerunners as they navigate Night City. Lucy quickly became the most popular character in the show thanks to her standout design and personality.
CD Projekt Red officially announced that Lucy will be joining Guilty Gear Strive sometime in 2025 as the franchise’s first ever guest character, meaning it will be the first character from another IP and not based on any fighter from Guilty Gear‘s or Arc System’s universe.
Unfortunately all that we have right now is a simple announcement and no gameplay trailer, though we can probably expect one to arrive in the coming months. It will be interesting to see how Lucy’s unique fighting style synergises with Guilty Gear‘s fighting mechanics.
Guilty Gear Strive is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
