GIGABYTE Unveils New Notebook Lineup Upgraded with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series Laptop GPUs

by Sahil Lala on 12 January, 2021

Gigabyte have announced today their brand new lineup of Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series Laptop GPU notebooks for 2021 at the Performance Above All virtual launch event which can be viewed below.

The official press release from Gigabyte details what consumers can expect when the laptops launch however no official pricing has been revealed just yet.

You can read the full press release below: (Note: Parts of the following press release have been edited for clarity)

Gigabyte have announced the new AORUS pro gaming series, namely the AORUS 17G, AORUS 15G, and AORUS 15P. Gigabyte have also announced the AERO creator series, which are the AERO 17, AERO 17 HDR, AERO 15, and AERO 15 OLED.

NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 30 Series Laptop GPUs, powered by the NVIDIA Ampere architecture, increase energy efficiency by up to 2x, accelerate performance dramatically and introduce third-generation Max-Q technologies for thin and lightweight designs. GeForce RTX 30 Series Laptop GPUs deliver stunning ray-traced gaming experiences in Cyberpunk 2077 and other top titles, and enable creators to produce incredible content using hundreds of GPU-accelerated apps.

“GIGABYTE has been pushing the boundaries of laptop performance since 2012, the year we debuted the world’s first GTX-based laptop,” said David Ding, VP of Sales & Marketing at GIGABYTE. “We kept pushing the limits of what a laptop can do, bringing a series of portable powerhouses to not just gamers, but content creators as well. Today we did it again by placing performance above all and ended up delivering something more impressive yet compact!”

Performance Above All

Performance is always the key when it comes to gaming or productivity on notebooks. With the upgrade of the high-performance GeForce RTX 30 Series Laptop GPU, both AORUS and AERO notebooks can speed through everything from smoother gameplay to video encoding or 3D rendering. To harness the extreme power of the GeForce RTX 30 series, GIGABYTE delivers an equally advanced thermal system with the redefined WINDFORCE Infinity technology on AORUS & AERO series laptops to squeeze out the best performance of GeForce RTX 30 Series Laptop GPU.

Compared to the thin and light models, the AORUS 15P gaming notebook possesses up to 37% more airflow intake, while maintaining temperatures of 10 degree Celsius lower for both CPU and GPU under heavy loads, opening up more thermal headroom for the GeForce RTX 30 Series Laptop GPU to push graphic performance to the limit. This innovative thermal management further allows the exclusive Microsoft Azure AI technology to allocate more power to CPU or GPU according to different tasks – For GPU-sensitive tasks, such as gaming, there will be more power delivered to GPU; if the task is CPU-sensitive instead, e.g. video encoding, more power will be delivered to CPU. By doing so, users will have about 5% more performance boost while gaming or working on content creation.

AORUS: Game Like a Pro

Co-designed with G2 Esports, one of the world’s top-tier esports teams, GIGABYTE AORUS gaming notebooks are engineered to perform in the gaming realm. Besides the unmatched performance, they also come with remarkable features designed with the need of gamers in mind.

Equipped with the industry-leading refresh rate displays of up to 300Hz, AORUS gaming notebooks drastically reduce the occurrence of image ghosting and tearing to a minimum, providing optimal experience and high-speed visuals required by the game enthusiasts. For hardcore gamers, AORUS 17G is further equipped with a true mechanical keyboard. The exclusive OMRON switches offer a phenomenal tactile feel and crisp switch sound feedback, significantly increasing game speed and performance.

A summary of new AORUS gaming notebooks:

AERO: Creativity Starts Here

Winners of 2020 Reddot Design Award and Taiwan Excellence Award, the AERO series notebooks are highly acclaimed by professionals who use these machines to channel their creativity. Across the board, the AERO series provides powerful productivity performance, thin-and-light portability, and exceptionally detailed visuals with true-to-life color accuracy.

Featuring the world’s first Xrite Pantone color calibrated OLED displays the AERO 15 OLED is VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certified and covers 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, hence user can see more colors and more details while working or while consuming media. Every panel of AERO is calibrated in-factory before shipping out, ensuring perfect color accuracy every time the AERO is turned on.

In satisfying creators’ peripheral connection needs, the thin-and-light notebooks are also packed with the versatile connectivity including HDMI 2.1, miniDP and Thunderbolt 3 for image output, and a UHS-II SD card reader designed for photographers. The Thunderbolt 3 type-c port also supports 4x faster data transfer than USB 3.1, which is optimal for external storage, providing both more storage capacity and quicker data transmitting.
