We finally got a chance to look at Disney's remake of The Lion King, and it looks absolutely beautiful. What makes it even better, is the fact that the trailer replicates the opening of the 1994 classic.
The film is being produced by Walt Disney Pictures and we have Iron Man director Jon Favreau leading the charge. He also directed the Jungle Book remake, which makes him the perfect fit for the job. In the trailer, we get a look at the photo-realistic, computer-animated movie featuring an astounding number of high-profile voice actors. The likes of which include Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce as Nala, and James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa. I mean, there is literally nobody else who lives on this planet who could replace him as Mufasa.
The teaser trailer shows Rafiki presenting young Simba to the animals of Pride Lands, with the iconic shot of Simba being lifted above the kingdom. This happens in tandem with James Earl Jones' narration as Mufasa, while the original film's opening soundtrack, Circle of Life, plays melodically in the background.
Well, it definitely is a trailer worthy of a few good watches. Grab your friends, family, exes, strangers, even that person you haven't spoken to since high school, and give the trailer a gander.
Will defend anything Dragon Ball. Occasionally has two-way conversations with himself. Has sleepless nights about Half-Life 3 confirmed.
