id Software officially unveiled new gameplay and the release date for DOOM: The Dark Ages during last night’s Xbox Developer Direct showcase. The anticipated first-person shooter is going medieval on the denizens of hell but its PC system requirements are anything but medieval. In fact, it’s pretty demanding, requiring ray tracing-compatible GPU even on minimum.
In terms of storage space, DOOM: The Dark Ages will require at least 100 GB which is par for the course with most AAA games these days. However, it doesn’t seem like ray tracing is going to be an option this time – even the minimum specs still require you have to a NVIDIA or AMD card capable of ray tracing, such as the RTX 2060 Super or better. If you want the best possible experience on PC in glorious Ultra 4K, you need to have a NVIDIA RTX 4080 or better, or an AMD RX 7900XT or better.
