@Wannie197, Tea responded to this message yesterday saying no news yet. And mentioned keeping everyone 'posted'. Just have to keep waiting, I'm afraid.

Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire: New Gameplay, Anime Adaptation and 'Braindance' Revealed

by Sam Aberdeen on 25 June, 2020

Cyberpunk 2077 recently held its Night City Wire event, where they presented a deep dive into the upcoming open world RPG from CD Projekt Red, the acclaimed developers behind The Witcher series. The event kicked off with a new trailer (with all footage captured from the prologue only, which is insane to think about), showcasing the player's relationship with their lively partner, Jackie, and some of the areas of the game. One gang highlighted was the Mox, who have a deep history within the world.

The gameplay trailer also highlights one of the seven areas called the Badlands, inhabited by the Nomads, whose niche is crafting vehicles meant for traversing the wide open spaces of the desert. Ripper docs are also given some new details; surgeons who handle cybernetic parts and replacing limbs, enhancing your body, etc. They're essential as they offer some great upgrades in the game for turning your body into a tool "that will allow you to survive the streets of Night City."

CD Projekt Red then surprised everybody when they announced that they would be partnering with Trigger, the Japanese animation studio responsible for shows like Kill la Kill and Kiznaiver, to adapt Cyberpunk 2077 into an anime called Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners. No concrete release date was given for the anime other than the announcement and it arriving in 2022, but it's surely an exciting new venture for this universe.

Finally, Braindance, a new gameplay feature, was given the spotlight - invented as a way of recording people's experiences and relive them, usually as a method of therapy, but in 2077, has become a global interactive device. This mechanic allows players to jump into the heads of important NPCs in the past, essentially hacking their minds, memories and traumas. You can experience their actions, even go as far as pausing and rewinding the world for significant clues and details around you. You'll be able to hone in on sound signatures as well for points of interest, reliving the moment you just played out with your NPC body host. This type of "editor mode" is fantastic for detective work, finding out the identities of perpetrators, and uncovering parts of a mystery that weren't obvious at first. It's a storytelling tool that's meant to enhance the narrative of Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 releases on November 19th, 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

I didn't like The Witcher 3, but this looks right up my alley with the futuristic setting. Cheesy dialogue and all.

Agreed. Looks like CPR is going to set the bar for RPGs again. Also happy to hear they want to scale back the game length from Witcher 3 to focus on a more detailed narrative and substantial sidequests. Witcher 3 did a good job of it keeping things meaningful but, hopefully, they'll can entirely remove open-world trash like clearing enemy camps or collecting tat.

Looking absolutely incredible.
