Creators United Interview: Ryan "Fish" Young

This afternoon, we take a look at another member of the Molecast crew, Ryan "Fish" Young. Ryan talks a little bit about what inspired him to be a content creator, how he got his unusual nickname, and his involvement with Creators United.

What inspired you to be a content creator?
Carrot - another guy on the Molecast - had a bad idea one day, and here I am.

Who are your inspirations, and why?
I am inspired by the geek community as a whole. I just love all of it.

What type of content do you create?
We make YouTube video of board gaming, and geek coverage of events like ICON.

What would you do to further your field in the South African entertainment industry?
Get good (we aren't sure at what, but we agree).

What prompted you to participate in the Creators United?
It's a great cause and we have an opportunity to help out, so we would be crazy not to give back.

Have you ever worked with any charity events before?
I have not.

When you’re not a content creator/superhero, what do you do in your daily life?
I am a software developer.

What are the greatest difficulties you’ve faced being a content creator?
Finding time to learn how to create things. it's easy to get a good idea, but it's often difficult to make it happen.

How did you feel when your content was appreciated for the first time?
It's an amazing feeling, and simply mind-blowing to see people like what you like, and what you make.

What is your ultimate goal as a content creator?
To make content that people enjoy and recognise.
