Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time was previously leaked when the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee rated the game, but now we have confirmation that it's a go-ahead as it was officially unveiled yesterday via Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest. The announcement came with a trailer that gave us our first story details as well as some of our first gameplay, and it all seems to be in the true spirit of Crash.

Developer Toys for Bob, who previously made the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, will be helming the new project once again under Activision's publishing duties. The game, now having a numbered subtitle, means it will likely continue on from Naughty Dog's original trilogy. This retcons the Traveller's Tales-developed Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex, which was also technically a continuation of the Naughty Dog trilogy (as well as a handful of PS2-era games in the series). Nonetheless, it looks like it retains the same zany spirit of the original games complete with colourful new worlds across the spectrum of time and space. Check out the announcement trailer below:
