Marvel Studios and Disney are set to conclude the currently ongoing multiverse saga of the MCU with two big Avengers movies: Doomsday and Secret Wars. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. would be playing Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, a departure from his more heroic portrayal of Tony Stark/Iron Man. A new report has seemingly revealed the cast list for the upcoming epic, at least so far.
As assembled by DiscussingFilm, apart from Robert Downey Jr.’s confirmed involvement in Avengers: Doomsday, the cast list reportedly also includes Chris Evans. It’s unclear if Evans will return as Captain America or The Human Torch as depicted in Deadpool & Wolverine, or if he’ll be playing another variant. Anthony Mackie, who is the current Captain America in the MCU, is also mentioned on the list.
The full list of actors reported to appear in Avengers: Doomsday include:
Chris Evans
Anthony Mackie
Robert Downey Jr.
Benedict Cumberbatch
Tom Holland
Pedro Pascal
Vanessa Kirby
Joseph Quinn
Ebon Moss-Bachrach
Thunderbolts (TBC which members)
Interestingly, the entire cast of The Fantastic Four will make an appearance, though it’s expected considering that Doctor Doom is a primary villain for the superhero family. Elsewhere, it looks like Tom Holland and Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise their roles as Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, respectively. Since this is the multiverse saga, we also have to consider the possibility that these actors will all be playing variants and not the same characters they’re synonymous with.
As for the fourth MCU Spider-Man movie, it seems like Jon Watts, who directed the previous trilogy, won’t be returning. Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton is reportedly being considered as the director for the upcoming Spider-Man movie. Marvel Studios hasn’t nailed down a release date for this yet, though you can expect Avengers: Doomsday to hit cinemas on 1 May 2026.
