The highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI was originally planned to launch in fall 2025 before being delayed to a set 26 May 2026 release date. However, it suffered a second delay which pushed it out to 19 November 2026. However, an analyst predicts that Rockstar’s open-world crime epic will once again be delayed – potentially into 2027 – and it might “start to test industry and investor patience.”
GamesIndustry.biz recently spoke to Newzoo analyst Manu Rosier, finding out his predictions for the gaming industry in 2026. When talking about GTA VI, Rosier predicted that the game will likely get hit with another delay that could push it into 2027. Rosier added that this delay “would start to test industry and investor patience, shifting the narrative from confidence in Rockstar’s polish to concerns around scope and development complexity.”
