Biomutant is an upcoming action-RPG that has been quite silent since its announcement, with some presuming it had been cancelled after its initial reveal a few years ago. However, developer Experiment 101 - made up of former developers who worked on the Just Cause series - assured fans that it was still well in development. Their silence was broken again yesterday when they appeared on IGN's Summer of Gaming event to showcase a lengthy ten-minute long gameplay demonstration - and it looks gorgeous.

The 10 minutes of gameplay for Biomutant featured commentary from the game's creative director, but a no commentary version of the video was quickly uploaded online (thanks to YouTuber PS360HD), which you can find below. The first thing to leap out about the gameplay is how striking the art direction and environments are. There's a great atmosphere to the game that keeps players engaged in its fantastical elements such as essentially playing as warrior animals battling against bigger enemies and foes, all the while exploring some lush biomes and more. It's certainly unique, and shines in its original concept and clever mix of martial arts melee combat and shooting.
