Hi Bob - Not as yet but we are investigating various new gaming systems to launch organised play and product ranges at the Nexus Hub for this year - and that range is one of them

Thanks fo listing Hi-Fi Rush guys, definitely wanna get a pre-order in for this. Perfect timing now that the publisher has switched from Microsoft to Krafton as well so I imagine no money will be going to MS for this lol

@Ghost, it's not a local release we need to import the stock. So with shipping and customs it takes longer.

Yet again self explanatory

So where do you stay province wise if you want you can even give your city I am actually quite curious about how

Me I live in Gauteng, Pretoria

I actually ran across AWX on a school camp when I saw someone reading a mangastream asked what it was he told me and let me read it, couple months later went to bright water commons and pretty much that was the beginning

A few years later Centurion opened went there the day it opened just after school

Live in Joburg and first visited the Brightwater Commons store very many years ago. I think they had just moved out of the flea market. I only went into the downstairs part because the fluorescent signage that said "Anime" looked like it was something risqué lol. When I discovered the upstairs part it was like a whole new world. Started posting on the forum, went to a few meet-ups, worked at a couple of the stores and now do AWX social media. The rest, as they say, is history

I live in Secunda. Saw Animeworx in NAG. And been buying ever since. Awx could do with some more exposure. I've introduced awx to a lot of people that didn't even know awx existed. They've been buy from awx ever since. One friend only recently found out about awx since I told him.

Was in Krugersdorp when a friend took me to AWX in Brightwater Commons. Been there a few times, then I moved to Pretoria and have made a few visits to the Centurion branch.

Jo'burg visited the old flea market stall a few times and then started using the store more and more especially after they started selling comics. They started that off with a bang, had a huge introductory sale and that got me hooked

I currently live in Jozi.
Around 2003 I was living in Randburg and came for a visit to BWC, saw a game shop and went in for a quick look before getting lunch. I noticed the "risque" sign and stairs that Snow mentioned and (bravely) went up alone to have a look at what that was all about and found tons of anime (ofc). I was amazed at all the stuff as no one I knew was into anime at the time (i was hooked though, mostly thanks to SciFi channel). It was a bit intimidating at the time as there was no one else up there except a quiet dude (Pika, who used to work at the store) behind the counter. I only stuck around for a few minutes as I had to get back to my family.

Fast forward a year or so and I was studying and met Vu (who worked/works at awx) at college. Hang out a lot at the flea market store most days and a few weeks later was working at Wicked and Kidcon expos then weekends and then that turned into 6 days a week. Worked for +-3 years at the flea market store, main store, expos and on the website. Some of the most fun I have ever had

rage 2003, AWX had a stand there, bought stuff and got a flyer.
Then proceeded to go travel to brightwater commons once a month for all these years to come :3

Been in and around Randburg for most of my life and the Brightwater Commons (nee Waterfront) was always a place I would mope around with my school mates in our teen years (abysmal in hindsight!). Think I first started visiting AWX when I got a PS2 around 2003.

My parents took us to Brightwater Commons a few years back.. I remember that we bought Mortal Kombat Deception when we visited AWX for the first time.

When I started working in 2007, I made a point of going to the store twice a month and buy lots of games and anime boxsets. Nowadays, I hardly get the time to visit the store

Jozi (but mostly inside my head)
Walked into AWX years back looking for ps2 games. Heard somebody (think it was trevor) ask a client: "Have you checked the upstairs anime section?"
I was like:

http://www.awx.co.za/images/forums/79183/14999.jpg

Up to that point I only had access to anime through my brother and the internet

When I got upstairs I was all:

http://www.awx.co.za/images/forums/79183/15000.jpg

Would be interesting If I could calculate all the money I spent here over the years and check what I bought/traded...

Digging out this gem. Looking to connect with anime/gaming/cosplay people in the Durban area. Moved recently so any recommendations are welcome!

Gauteng, back when I started Grade 8 in 2005 (man I’m old), there was a MTG club I wanted to join, so I went looking for a deck I could buy and my dad took me to Bright water commons (I think it was still Randburg Waterfront then), and found their flea market stall and got a Kamigawa deck. Since then I’ve gotten lots of TCG stuff, anime and Gundam Model kits and loved going to their shop ever since.

Hope it stays for years to come, wishing you all the best and stay safe

East London (as in, the Eastern Cape one)

Visited the AWX in Fourways Crossing in 2013, and actually purchased my first comic trade paperback there. Alright place. Bit cramped. Friendly staff.

Randomly came cross AWX while wanting to go to the Uncut shop that sold anime boxsets and figures in the center of Randburg Waterfront, walked past, looked inside and when I walked upstairs, love at first sight...! That was 2008, bought my first figure there, Final Fantasy XII Ashe Play Arts Figure.. I remember the box being in such mint condition and the figure was so eye catching and made me want to buy it. Spent years buying play arts and statues after that with nowhere to put them so they all stayed sealed in boxes.

I now stay in Singapore for last 6 years have continued to buy some figures and statues and try to see if anything available I want from AWX/Nexus now and then to get for my nephew to try support still.
