@TheOneMCMK - it can feel very much like a lite-version of Fallout 3/NV/4, with smaller semi-open locations you travel between rather than one huge map. Despite the redcued size, the complexity in how you can approach dialopguie and combat is way better. It's more a 25-ish hour RPG you'll want to replay to see different builds and outcomes, rather than a 100-hour Bethesda RPG packed with secondary locations and quests.
@blaze: Yoshida has confirmed 14 will have a ps5 version. Either way, FF14 still looks dam pretty in the newer areas.
As for an engine upgrade?
Yoshi said it would be a waste of resources. Rather spend the money on new content for the players to play. I agree fully!
@Blaze: Doubt it, FF14 is still making Square enix mad money. Shadowbringers has brought sub numbers to it's record numbers. Yoshida has said in the past Square has no plans for a new MMO atm. Just too expensive. A bit weary after FF14 1.0 almost killed Square AND the FF brand completely.
Yoshida and his crew saved Square and FF by coming in and making FF14 2.0 . So he has a lot of power in the company.
I've noticed that after scrolling down in the chatbox sidebar, it will automatically snap back to the top after a short period. It makes reading posts that are lower down a bit frustrating. Delay to reset ranges from 7 to 14 Mississippis but doesn't happen when clicking inside the chat textbox first before scrolling down.
