Look Steamdeck is highly optimised and great if you have an expanded steam library that would be your choice but for game pass and other platforms you want to use, ASUS is the winner, just may not be as optimsed a gaming handheld experience

I remember visiting Brightwater to search the flea market there for bootleg anime. Wandered into this dodgy little shop with Console games to have a look around, fearing for my hygiene and sanity.
Heard the dude behind the counter (pretty sure it was Trevor) tell someone to check the "upstairs anime section".
Ascended staircase to anime heaven
First time I found legit stuff in a shop
Became a regular quick quick
Ah the good old days
*sips tea with 40 sugars from saucer*

Found out about AWX in 2008/2009.
They still had the two shops. One with the anime upstairs, games downstairs. & the second shop with all the comics!!
Then they got their new shop, still at Brightwater. Very fancy!
I would always get there early. Nose pressed up against glass, waiting for them to open.
Was fun meeting up there with friends, & hanging out.
The good old days...*falls asleep in rocking chair*...

My first experience of AWX was the smaller store at Brightwater. Because of the fluorescent light I was always too scared to go upstairs - I thought it was dodgy stuff up there 
That was 2005/2006. After going upstairs finally and then meeting everyone, it was so awesome and I was there regularly. DP and I met on the forum Went to all the meetups at Scrooge... well a lot of them... We also organised a paintball meetup at one point. So many great memories

My first interaction was actually a stall that was affiliated with the store in the old Bruma Lake flea market. I bought the entire series 1 of McFarlane AvP figures from them. They mentioned Randburg so I went there to check it out and found some really sweet Robotech diecast figures that I picked up. Then I found the anime section and eventually the games when I started console gaming in 2008. On the forums it was only around 2010 when I finally had a deskbound job after articles that I signed up.

I think i got on here somewhere around 2005/2006
havent been on here or forums in a long time even the international forums died (RE bioflames etc)
not saying this died.. been mostly on social media and the passed year been at it with my own business after retrenchment (was perfect timing just before covid)
I donno i remember the staff being really awesome and arguments galore in this place. I see what did you buy still alive XD
