I shelved Entropy : Zero 2 until I am done with my PC Stellar Blade run.

But in terms of interesting, for the last 1 or two Half Life fans in the audience; I highly recommend checking out Entropy: Zero 2

Completely crazy - I would love to see which countries make up the bulk of those stats...

Also, Stellar Blade peaked at 180k concurrent players yesterday. Pretty damn impressive seeing as Spider-man 2 (which is from a colossal IP) couldn't clock 30k players on Steam release a few months ago.

I am very curious to see the weekend numbers.

@HaseoVII fully agreed. The thing is when you make games to make money you make games like Stellar Blade and Black Myth. The numbers speak for themselves. If you make a game to send a message, you make games like AC Shadows. Concord. Dustborn, Unknown 9, and any other nonsense involved with the likes of Sweet Baby Inc. The numbers never lie...

Wukong (nothing against Astro Bot but Wukong was robbed lol) and Stellar Blade have set the bar. Western devs need to step up.

Western devs are so afraid of making games that have attractive women, and that aren't inclusive to everyone. This may be a hot take, but I firmly believe that not everything needs to be inclusive. If everything catered to everybody, the world would be an incredibly boring and predicatable place

Good to hear that Nespresso have a recycling system

mmm thinking on this now but do you guys find it easy to recycle in general? I usual collect a months worth of stuff and then go to Bryanston Organic Market to drop it off as its on my way to work, but they have closed their recycle section until further notice. There is an Engen a bit further out of my way that has a recycle section but they get filled up so quickly and there are instructions not to leave bags outside the containers if they are full (although I ignored these yesterday ). There is a paid for collection service in my area but I don’t think I have enough recyclables to justify paying for this services.

I just get the feeling that the average person would not be inclined to go through the trouble of finding a reliable recycle centre if they experience any resistance. Sites like http://www.mywaste.co.za/ help but I am not sure how up to date or accessible the centres are that listed there.

Unfortunately we don't Embarrassing to admit, but it is borderline impossible as we live in an apartment upstairs with just a tiny balcony. We literally have to remove the rubbish from our place at least twice a day as there is no way we could just let it take up space in our kitchen. So we don't have space for those separate bins and whatnot. I really would like to when we move to a place with a garden (which thankfully won't be too long now)

We don't because as you say it is inconvenient at the moment.

Some private dude collects plastic bottles and recyclables in our area. In a old [censored]belching thick black smoke. The irony.

I watched a programme about poverty stricken people at the municipal landfills that eke a living out of collecting recyclables.

EDIT: censored word is the Americanism for lorry or light commercial vehicle LOL!

Space is certainly an issue. And you have a little kid running, Snow. So there you can't really have a bag of junk lying around.

@Scottie Yea its just like the trolleymen in the suburbs. It must a hard and dangerous life I wonder if personal recycling takes work away from these people... conflicting thoughts there.

I just wonder if there is a way to make things easier for people to recycle. Will need to think on this

Still on the topic of recycling - Here is a vid from a while back that is pretty interesting (and slightly extreme)

So this is a pretty cool concept...
Swimming Ponds

Seems they have been around for a few decades and are gaining popularity recently. There are few companies that specialise in building them in South Africa. Not sure how I would feel potentially having frogs and other crawlies in the pool with me, but its still an awesome way to have a pool with a low environmental impact - no chemicals or backwashing. Apparently they are more expensive to build then a chemical pool, but are easier to clean and maintain in the end since the pond ecosystem does the cleaning. In this drought pools really do seem excessive and slightly wasteful, but perhaps this is a eco-friendlier way to go about having one.

Nice idea and I suppose no different than swimming in a lake or river. Would happily look at changing my pool into one of these

This will undoubtably be expensive at first but at least the tech is getting out there and will get cheaper over time as competition increases and advances are made

@Corr I so want this and their power banks, but due to all the taxes and Forex they are so damn expensive in SA. While I am not one to add on tax deductions for many things, this I think should be deductible in some way or form, would help ease the burden on Eskom from households over time so they can concentrate on providing power to industry. Having said that, we are looking to start looking at renovations next year so this will definitely be on the wish list

Yes there should be some tax duction for going solar. In other countries you can sale your excess solar power by to the grid. I think this is done in areas in CT but not here by JHB. That would atleast give some money back to those doing their part.

I wish I could do this myself. I am keen to hear how it goes for you if you do decide to go for something like this or just solar in general

I don't know about Cape Town, but I thought that it is illegal to sell back? I know what one guy at work does is when he goes out he basically shuts off everything at his D Board and that somehow feeds electricity back to the grid and somehow reverses the meters. Illegal I am sure but so far he hasn't been fined or charged...

It was in an article I read some time back that they were experimenting with this in areas in CT, but it wasn't an official eskom project. I would guess that paying people back money is not in with budget plan or something like that.

Lol but it seems your buddy has worked out a work around anyway

With the United Nations Climate Change conference (Cop22) currently being held in Morocco these both seemed relevant...

The winner of the #Film4Climate video competition. Pretty powerful stuff

Thought I posted this but seems not so now is a good time to do so . NatGeo did post this on their YT channel but I can't find it now. This channel is not the official release but I am sure that YT will remove this if its breaking any copyright.regardless of all that, the full film is worth the watch. I had no idea "Sunny Day flooding" was a thing

I am in no way a vegan (meat is too delicious!) but I found this point stuck with me after watching the film
